Return of 184 Austrian war prisoners and internees
A Soviet release at Wiener Neustadt brought 184 Austrian war prisoners and civilians home. The returnees recounted meetings with American British and French prisoners in Russian camps, and with several thousand Germans. They recalled encounters in Alexandrovsk Siberia and Vladimir near Moscow, naming several American personnel and a German American linked to Philadelphia. They described an American captain Jimmy Fabian and an American Mike Finegage or Murray Feingersch among others.

Tornado Hits Manitoba Town Injuring Dozens
A tornado struck the southeastern Manitoba town of Vila yesterday injuring at least 30 people and causing heavy property damage. Initial reports of fatalities proved incorrect as the exact number of injuries could not be determined. The town, home to about 400 residents, largely populated by Ukrainian immigrants, experienced a two minute tornado burst.
