Truck Driver Cited For Tail Light Violation Pleads Guilty
Wayne Bert Harris of Lawrence and Humbert W. Britt of Albuquerque were cited for traffic offenses. Harris pleaded guilty in County Court to operating a truck without a tail light and was fined $10 plus costs by Judge Milo Harris. Britt also pleaded guilty to speeding 55 mph in a truck and received a $10 plus costs fine by Judge Milo Harris.

Ottawa Post resumes third training class for Ground Observer Corps at 7 30 tonight in the Armory. Don White, post supervisor, notes Ottawa Business and Professional Women and American Legion Auxiliary groups plan to attend. The Dave Garroway Show from 7 a m tomorrow will originate at the midway of the 20th Century Shows in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. The shows are owned by Mr and Mrs E D McCrary. Mrs McCrary is daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Brown and sister of Mrs Reid Harder. The couple, A M Harvey and daughters Jeanean and Susan, visited Colorado Women's College in Denver where Jeanean was admitted to the freshman class and then spent time at Grand Lake where Jeanean remained to work.

The Soil Bank is shifting payments to farmers who retired winter wheat land this year. USDA officials expect about 100 million dollars in payments to winter wheat growers by July 1. In total, 12,785,000 acres across winter and spring wheat will retire for 230,848,000 dollars. Payments for corn, cotton, rice and tobacco retirements will come later in the summer or fall.
