Ralph E Chambers a 77 year old Franklin county farmer died at Ransom Memorial hospital at 7 25 am after a stroke. He was born December 18 1878 a lifelong resident and known for chicken raising on his farm near Williamsburg 344 miles northeast. Survived by sister Mrs Max Allen Pomona and brothers Charles R Chambers El Segundo Orville I Chambers Drexel and William B Chambers Burlington. Born September 9 1895 in Benington he lived in Wellsville from 1937 until moving to Osawatomie a year ago. He farmed then worked at the state hospital. Services Tuesday at 2 p m in Wellsville Methodist church with Rev J M Torrence of Erie and Rev Paul Leslie aiding burial in De Soto Cemetery. He leaves wife Violet a son Norman Dowling of Ottawa four brothers Russell Manhattan Warren Lawrence Ben Olathe Ralph De Soto two sisters Hazel Thompson Kansas City Mo and Joyce Page Gardner.

Death of Hiram R. Shinkle Brings Ottawa Funeral Plans
The body of Hiram R. Shinkle of Topeka, formerly of Ottawa, died yesterday and was brought to McVey-Dengel Mortuary in Ottawa. He was a 75 year old widower. Survivors include sisters Mrs. Ellen James and Mrs. Henry Lockhart of Chicago. Funeral arrangements will be completed after Mrs. Lockhart arrives in Ottawa tonight. Mrs. Lockhart formerly lived in Ottawa when her husband served with the fire department.
