Harvest stop and go work in southern Kansas fields
In ICHITA Kansas area farmers faced a stop start wheat harvest as rain saturated fields delayed cutting. Mike Vaughn of Two Rovers Co op in Arkansas City said fields are ready but too muddy to operate while some Cowley County growers reported 125 acres cut with 20 to 25 bushels per acre and test weights around 54 pounds. In Wellington the pace may pick up Monday though mud will slow progress.
