Tornado hits Sabetha downtown damages city hall and shops
A late Saturday tornado tore a two block downtown area in Sabetha Kansas damaging 18 commercial buildings and the 80 year old City Hall. No injuries were reported as utilities were being restored and officials considered the area for disaster designation. Weather officials estimated an F-2 level as the storm moved along Main Street.

Death toll climbs past 1000 after India cyclone hits Gujarat
In western India the cyclone's devastation leaves 1,052 confirmed dead in Gujarat, nine in Rajasthan, and 12 in Pakistan. Rescue teams report more than 300 missing while health workers battle cholera and malaria among survivors. The cyclone carried winds to 75 mph and 20 foot waves.
