Rain halts Kansas wheat harvest as crews push for dry weather

Prototype store to Save energy in Lawrence Kansas

Wal-Mart plans an energy efficient prototype store in Lawrence that will use about half the energy of a typical store. It will open next spring, feature solar powered signs, energy efficient design, and recycling programs. The 121,267 square foot facility includes classroom space for school visits and plans to reuse asphalt and recyclable steel from a nearby bowling alley.
