Wildlife on farmland shapes America's natural balance

Charles Weickert outlines how modern farming transforms wildlife habitat. In 1972 farmers and landowners, aided by the SCS, improved over 7.5 million acres for wildlife and converted more than 500,000 acres to wildlife and recreation. Practices like stripcropping ponds and windbreaks bolster wildlife, with urbanites also benefiting as private lands host much hunting and fishing activity.
