The National Park Service awards a 200000 grant to an African Methodist Episcopal Church affiliated association to develop the Quin daro Ruins Archaeological Park in Kansas City Kansas. The project includes a scenic overlook and trails detailing the sites role in the Underground Railroad and abolitionist history. Kansas City Kansas Community College and Wyandotte County Unified Government will match the grant with in kind services to support early construction and signage at the 154 acre site listed on the National Register.
