Wheat forecast still 40 year low in Kansas
Kansas Agricultural Statistics kept its June estimate of the 1996 wheat crop at 182.6 million bushels, a 40-year low. Acreage to harvest remains 8.3 million acres with a yield of 22 bushels per acre, as rains late in May hinder the crop, causing weed problems and uneven yields across state stands.
