Power Fund Restored in House Appropriations Bill

The House Appropriations Committee approved six million dollars to restore the Southwestern Power Administration continuing power contracts with REA super cooperatives. The Interior Department opposed making contracts operative, and the committee urged prompt settlements with contracting REA coops in Missouri Oklahoma Arkansas and Kansas while prohibiting SPA options to buy REA lines or facilities.
