Water detected in distant galaxy Markarian 1
Astronomers using a radio telescope report finding water 200 million light years away in Markarian 1, a galaxy with a bright center likely housing a black hole. University of Maryland astronomer James Braatz notes Pisces location while UC Berkeley's Jack Welch calls the discovery exciting and suggests water may be common across the universe.
