Juvenile program funding trimmed in Franklin County
The Franklin County Community Corrections will cut 21000 from its juvenile justice budget next year. The Legislature has slashed 1 million from the Juvenile Justice Authority, forcing the county to limit core programs to state required items such as monitoring offenders and out of home placements. Some prevention programs will be reduced, but many were to start next year and may be less affected. An accounting error briefly inflated the impact to 71000 before it was corrected.
