Legion Scramble To Begin At District 2 Tourney
The large Kansas Legion tournament at Orlis Cox Field opens with 6 PM games on two diamonds. KC Post 399, the top seed, faces uncertainty after coach Mike Haen was killed in a Friday shooting. Former contenders Lawrence Ottawa Garnett and Olathe loom, while KC 188 and 199 and Paola, Iola, Shawnee vie for spots in a week-long double elimination race ending next Saturday. Admission is $1 for adults and 50 cents for students.
