Maggie I Garnett Pontious, 97, of Osawatomie died Friday July 24 1998 at Anderson County Hospital in Garnett Funeral services were held Monday at 1 30 pm at Eddy Brichard Funeral Home Osawatomie with Rev Sharon Chappell officiating Burial followed at Osawatomie Cemetery She was born June 21 1901 to Frank and Mary Ackerly on the family farm near Osawatomie She married Bernal Pontious in 1924 and after his death in 1959 wed Clarence Day in 1966 She was a homemaker and church member survived by son Eldon Ponticus Garnett daughter Wilma Wingo Ottawa sister Kittie Wilson Osawatomie seven grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren Memorials may be made to Osawatomie United Methodist Church.
