Ottawa police confirm parking rules around courthouse
Ottawa Police Captain Daryl Shutt verified the current on street parking near the courthouse per city control. Main Street and north Third Street are two hour limits, south Third Street has one handicapped space and two hour spots, Hickory Street holds sheriff vehicles with three fifteen minute spaces, north Fourth Street has twelve unrestricted spaces and the rest two hours, and south Fourth Street includes one handicapped space with two hour limits. The Franklin County Commission also heard a proposal for a courthouse copy machine from Jerry Conway of Hotz Business Systems with 32 and 40 copy per minute options costing 6592 and 7456 dollars respectively plus lease options. Previous Xerox offers and other bids will be reviewed before any decision.

State's abortion rules show little effect in Kansas
In Wichita and across Kansas, new abortion rules since July 1 1992 have not halted abortions and cause only minor clinic challenges. Waivers granted, eight hour pre abortion counseling required, parent notification for minors, and neutral responses from some outlying providers. Explosion at Dodds Memorials Building Injures No One
Explosion at the Dodds Memorials building on Main Street ruptured an air tank, sending debris through the roof and striking a service truck.
