Zig Zag Sewing Club Luncheon Sets July 6 Hostesses
The Zig Zag Sewing Club met July 6 at Parkside Place Community Room Garnett hosted by Mamie Pedrow and Evelyn Gillogly. Eighteen members and three guests attended including Margaret Mumma Judy Ryman Joyce Scovill and others. Tossed in were show and tell projects a Lord's Prayer crochet quilt and handmade rug. Door prizes went to Mary Fagg and Joyce Scovill.

Chippewa Good Sams Campout Adds New Members
The Chippewa Good Sams enjoyed a mid July Wolf Creek campout at Pomona Lake with nine members and five guests. Jim Bauman presided with flag salute, minutes approved, and audit results reported. Several prospective members joined, and a motion approved purchasing a new coffee pot as the meeting adjourned.

Whitaker Brings Home Eighth At FBLA Conference
West Franklin High School students Whitney Earnest Josh Whitaker and Shelby Webb are pictured at the National Leadership Future Business Leaders of America conference in Orlando Florida from June 28 to July 1. Earnest starts as a junior in the fall competed in FBSA principles and procedures. Whitaker who graduated in May competed and placed eighth in annual business report. Willcut earns Ford scholarship for fall 2011 studies
Karenna Willcut, a 2011 Central Heights High School graduate, received a $1,000 scholarship from Beckman Ford and Ford Motor Company. She is daughter of Marvin and Karla Willcut of Rantoul and will study biological sciences at Wichita State University. The award is part of 526 scholarships by Ford Division and Ford Motor Company Fund to current collegians or FFA seniors entering college in fall 2011.
