Library move requires volunteers for relocation effort
Barbara Dew, library director, said the Ottawa Library will move from the Franklin Savings Building to a new site with Thomas Transfer handling the move for 3000 dollars daily, providing 10 men, a truck, and carts. Volunteers will load and unload during a two day move planned for late August or early September, with the library closed that week. The endowment fund stands at 252 385 dollars, and the summer reading program ends Friday with Space Day prizes.

Rural Kansas woman arrested on marijuana charges
Donna Westerman, 30, was arrested Tuesday in Anderson County on felony marijuana cultivation and drug paraphernalia charges after authorities executed a search warrant at her home. She remained jailed in lieu of 50,000 bond, with weapons offenses and a tax stamp violation among the counts. seized were marijuana plants, cultivation and processing equipment, several guns, and KBI agents assisted along with dogs. Investigators said the probe remains ongoing and more arrests are expected.
