Franklin County Jail reports multiple arrests Friday and early Saturday. Joshua Franks, 21, Ottawa, and Francis Rushe IV, 27, were detained on probation and possession charges respectively. Charles Reinheimer, 24, Kansas City Kansas, faced a beer theft arrest. Mark Ambler, 52, Ottawa, cited for driving without a license. Jason Moore, 36, Ottawa, cited for license suspension. Steven Mackey, 49, Wellsville, arrested for DUI and related violations.
The Sheriff's Department logs several incidents: at 3 34 p m Friday a 52 year old Ottawa man had about 1009 dollars in hunting gear stolen on Oregon Road. At 5 55 p m Friday a 60 year old Ottawa man reported an old style horse drawn trailer stolen on Rock Creek Road. An accident at 10 10 p m Saturday on East Franklin Street involved a 47 year old Burlingame woman striking a cow with damage over 1000 dollars. At 12 33 a m Monday near Alabama Terrace and Labette Road a 51 year old Rantoul man left the roadway to avoid a deer, causing damage over 1000 dollars.
A Friday report notes a burglary of an item from a vehicle on Osage Drive by a 31-year-old Ottawa man, plus a bank intruder demanding cash at Princeton Street and a beer case theft on North Main Street by a 26-year-old store worker. Charles Reinheimer, 24, Kansas City, Kansas, was later arrested at the store. Vandalism on West 17th Street involved a parked car struck by an unknown suspect, and a scooter crash occurred on North Main Street injuring Frank Yeager, 50, Ottawa.
Police log notes multiple calls on Friday at 700 Main St for outside agency assistance, public assists, and recovered property plus Le Loup Medical at 100 Third St, and a public assist at 200 West Second St. Also an outside agency assist at K-33 and I-35. Saturday features a Main St public assist. Sunday includes outside agency assists on I-35 mile 200, Main St suspicious vehicle, Stafford Road outside agency assist, and harassment report on 900 Main St.
Eunice Fern Sissy Lantz 100 of Princeton died July 15 2011 at Ottawa Retirement Village. Funeral 10 am July 21 2011 Princeton Christian Church with Dengel Son Mortuary guiding. Born June 5 1911 she married E M Abe Lantz in 1930. survived by daughter Marian and Tim, seven grandchildren eighteen great grandchildren and twenty great great grandchildren. She lived in several states and was a seamstress and beautician.

Claudia Melissa Mullins 78 of Garnett died July 18 2011 at Anderson County Hospital in Garnett. Funeral services set for 10 am July 21 at First United Methodist Church Garnett. Burial in Garnett Cemetery. Survivors include husband James L Mullins and three sons. Family visitation July 20 from 7 to 8 pm at Feuerborn Funeral Service Chapel Garnett. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
