The Associated Press notes Sunday national temperatures ranged from 31 at Stanley Idaho to 120 at Death Valley California. The lower 48 states showed wide regional differences with Stanley recording the coldest and Death Valley the hottest reading.
Friday events list for Pomona and Wellsville libraries includes quilting at Pomona, Craft Club at Wellsville, Storytime and Bingo in Ottawa, crochet class at Pomona, plus an Eagles Chicken Fried Steak meal from 5 30 to 7 p.m. at the Ottawa area venue. Tom Rich a profoundly deaf Worcester Massachusetts man and his service dog Millhouse a border collie Alaskan husky mix trained to alert for sounds spoke at the Richmond Fair with volunteer Clare Green. The program educates about service dogs their roles and gives informational materials. Proceeds from a Smokin Pete's charity dinner benefit Canines for Disabled Kids.
Community calendar lists activities from Wellsville and Ottawa including line dancing at the Wellsville Nutritional Center and storytime at Ottawa Library. Also scheduled are Story Hour at Williamsburg Library, VFW bingo, tourism committee meeting, retired federal employees gathering, and Rotary Club at Ottawa University with additional events throughout the day.
