The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals banned cancer causing pesticides in processed foods under the Delaney Clause but did not pull any products from shelves or deem current items unsafe. The ruling, 3-0, could affect items like ketchup jelly and grain mixes and push safer pest control methods, per NRDC lawyer Albert Meyershoff. The court ordered the EPA to enforce the 1958 federal law limiting cancer causing substances in processed foods.
