Coffeyville Flood After Weekend Rain Leaves City in Cleanup
Heavy weekend storms drenched Coffeyville area with 7.58 inches of rain causing river and creek flooding. Nicholas Dermont, 27, of Dearing, died after his submerged vehicle was found about 150 yards from his location. About 60 homes flooded in three neighborhoods. Red Cross shelters opened at 4 a.m. and closed by 6 a.m. as water rose and fell quickly.
