Mrs Theresia Marie Loux 15 lifelong Ottawa resident died yesterday at 8 15 pm at 1007 S Hickory after a year and a half of declining health. Born December 3 1879 in Ottawa she was married February 21 1900 to Amos E Loux who died December 29 1949. Survived by five daughters and four sons plus three brothers and three sisters twenty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Rosary to be recited Sunday at 8 pm at the Loux home with funeral Monday at 9 am from Sacred Heart Church Father Matthew Guilfoyle to officiate. Burial in St John’s Cemetery Homewood.

Washington The Senate Appropriations Committee denied funds for a 6 million dollar Dixon Yates power line unless Memphis commits within 90 days to build its own plant. President Eisenhower ordered a new study on continuing or canceling the Dixon Yates contract as Memphis proceeds with its own plant. Congressional critics see this as a win against the project. A provision in TVA appropriations bars spending if Memphis builds its own plant within 90 days.
