Freshmen Report Poor Study Habits Yet Lower Drinking Rates
A UCLA HERI study shows American college freshmen arrived with weak study habits, 33.4 percent studied six hours weekly in high school, the lowest since the question began in 1987. Despite this, over 45 percent graduated high school with an A average, while beer drinking across freshmen hit a 1982-era low at 46.5 percent. Abby Shutter notes college demands heighten focus beyond high school.
