An Ottawa based National Guard artillery battalion aims to increase strength by about 30 recruits. Recruiters say the unit is below authorized strength and seeks locally sourced volunteers ages 17 to 35, with women not eligible for field artillery. They cite aging ranks and veterans from Vietnam, plus community outreach events to boost visibility.
A seminar on long term health effects of Agent Orange will run 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday February 8 in Conference Room A at Ransom Memorial Hospital.
