Kansas House advances budget balance bill amid GOP push

The Kansas House moved a deficit reducing measure to final action by voice vote to avert an estimated 312 million dollar shortfall by June 30 2003. The plan cuts 118 million from the current budget with 95 million highway withholdings and 48 million for cities and counties while 35 million is funded by fee revenue.
