Ottawa Library trustees, after brief consult with local stockbrokers, chose CDs over bonds or Ginnie Maes. They allocated 16,000 into a one year CD and 16,000 into a two year CD at Franklin Savings, keeping funds short term to match rising rates. Bruce Prentice was authorized to reinvest a 9,000 maturing money market CD into a six month CD offered by Peoples National Bank.
