Central Heights Robotics team held its second annual Lock-In from Saturday morning to Sunday, building a foam basketball grabbing and launching robot for NASA FIRST tournament. Students worked 24 hours to form a basic frame, with ideas from many to improve function. Sponsor Mrs. Rice called the event a success and praised the strong robot design.
Central Heights High School offered a teaching as a career class this semester. Senior Brytani Lyda studies secondary education for FACS and taught a lesson on My Plate. Students created foam plate models showing portions for grains fruits vegetables protein and dairy. Lyda and instructor Studebaker praised the student engagement and learning.
Central Heights High students and some faculty share New Year resolutions. Drew Beckwith aims to be a better basketball player while Jessica Marta seeks better grades and Rebecka Kudnell plans to spend less money. Austin King aims to make more money and teachers set goals from lowering blood sugar to tracking savings. Alexis Dryden breaks her pledge by receiving a detention for tardiness.
