Franklin County arrests a Tuesday spate spurs multiple charges

Franklin County Sheriff and Police Department report arrests Tuesday for driving with a suspended license after a seat belt stop on South Willow Street in Ottawa 24 year old Timothy Mathias. Herman Holt 36 of Princeton faces disorderly conduct for threatening deputies on High Street. Car Damron 25 of Wichita held on a Burlington warrant at 12 16 a m on South Oak Street. Jackie Clifton 54 of Ottawa charged with battery for striking two Ottawa men.

Theft Reports From Sheriff Department News

Theft of two Pac car heavy duty batteries from a 1995 Ford L8000 on East 15th Street with a $320 loss. Debit card information used by unknown suspect reported by a 56-year-old Ottawa woman on Stafford Road. Cell phone stolen from Walmart Distribution Center by a 27-year-old Princeton man with a $400 loss.

Police report multiple incidents across Ottawa and Lenexa

At 8:31 a.m. a 38-year-old Ottawa woman says an unknown suspect damaged property at Livingway Apostolic Church on Main Street. Later, a 63-year-old Ottawa woman reported an unknown suspect entered her residence with nothing missing. Incidents include vehicle thefts from unlocked cars on Princeton and Main streets, vehicle damage and theft on Cedar and Main, an 18-year-old Lenexa woman reporting vehicle damage and theft on Main, a 36-year-old Ottawa man noting vehicle damage and theft on Main, and a shed break-in with items stolen plus fence damage on South Main.

Fire Calls Ottawa Fire Department Report Summary

The Ottawa Fire Department assisted with six medical calls between Friday and Monday. Multiple structure and grass fires were reported across Franklin County from Friday to Sunday, including addresses on Colorado Road Virginia and Douglas Terrace and Indiana Road. Fire departments from Lincoln Ottawa Harrison Ohio townships and Pomona also responded to several incidents.

Obituary: Wyona Claudine Blakesley 92 of Ottawa and Texas

Wyona Claudine Arey Blakesley died January 16 2012 at age 92. Former Ottawa resident she lived in Texas with her daughter later in life. Funeral services are set for January 21 2012 at Lamb Roberts Ottawa with burial at Highland Cemetery. She was born July 17 1919 in El Dorado to Claude and Julia Arey and married Floyd Blakesley in 1933. Her survivors include Connie and Richard Stewart of Bakersfield California Gary Blakesley of West Palm Beach Florida and Dianne and David Ott of Waxahachie Texas. She enjoyed oil painting and cherished family letters and birthdays. The family thanks Trinity Health Rehab Italy Texas for care.

Betty Trout Brown obituary notes long Ottawa ties

Betty (Trout) Brown died January 10 2012 in Lafayette California after a cancer battle. Born August 27 1942 in Marshall Missouri she was the daughter of James Wesley Trout and Ella Mae Trout. She moved to Ottawa as a child and graduated from Ottawa High School and Ottawa University before settling in the San Francisco Bay Area for over four decades. She ran a records management and training consulting business, enjoyed travel music and entertaining. Survived by husband Raymond James Jim Brown daughter Kirsta Geiger son Kyle Brown and two grandsons. A life celebration is planned for September 15 in Ottawa donations to the American Cancer Society or local hospice.
