Antiwar rally lineup slated for Nixon inauguration weekend
Sen. Philip Hart and the Rev. Philip Berrigan lead speakers for a large antiwar rally planned around Nixon's second inauguration. Organizers say the weekend will feature peaceful mass protest amid calls for a Viet Nam cease fire and bombing halt. More than 30 members of Congress back the effort, with about 1,000 marshals to be trained for order at the Washington Monument. Tens of thousands expected to travel to Washington, momentum undimmed by the temporary bombing halt above the 17th Parallel. Sidney Pack and Jerry Gordon organize the main activities for the coalition groups involved.
