Garnett hosts first Friends of the Prairie Spirit Rail Trail meeting of the year with events set including April bicycling riders on the trail safety program April 12 Easter Parade along the trail to Santa Fe Depot May 25 Walk For MS June 6 National Trails Day and a Harris Family Cart Caravan later in June concerts by Bo and Stacy Harris and a Girl Scout plant and wildlife education event June 18 to 20. Trail passes cost 10 50 and are available from the Garnett Chamber or City Hall.

Second man arrested in Greeley robbery
Derek Clinton, 19, was arrested in Osawatomie on an Anderson County warrant charging aggravated robbery in the Jan. 3 Greeley convenience store robbery. Darrell D. Thompson, 36, faces aiding and abetting aggravated robbery charges and is jailed on $15,000 bond. Thompson’s hearing is Jan. 20. neither suspect was injured.
