Graveside service January 16 at Highland Cemetery. survived by daughter Joy Hildebrandt son Orral Jr parents four brothers six sisters and many grandchildren. Oletha Faye Hoerner 84 of Clay Center died January 11 1998. Local funeral January 15 at Cherry Street Wesleyan Church with burial at Highland Cemetery. Survived by husband Rev Ray Hoerner of Clay Center daughter Roberta Keen sons Donald and Pay Hoerner three sisters and eight grandchildren. Memorials to Nazarene Church Meadowlark Hospice or Kenya African Children's Mission.

Sniper surrenders after deadly Miami balcony fire rampage

A sniper fired from a burning apartment balcony then roamed the building shooting at random. Two people died and two were wounded before the suspect surrendered. Witnesses suggested eviction as a possible motive. police found three pistols on him.
