Ottawa to host American Legion baseball tournament this summer
The community will host the American Legion Central Plains Division II Baseball Tournament from August 7 featuring 100 to 150 players and fans from up to 10 states. Ottawa’s host team from last year will welcome state champions and 16 to 18 year olds at Orris Cox field for five days of double elimination play. Organizers seek volunteer hosts, meals, and hospitality efforts including welcome ceremonies and community events to support players and officials, with Pete Cearfoss and other organizers coordinating.
