Bush unveils $674B stimulus plan to boost growth and jobs

President Bush proposes a 674 billion dollar ten year stimulus package featuring immediate tax relief, the elimination of federal taxes on stock dividends, and expanding the child tax credit to one thousand dollars per child. The plan aims to aid about 34 million families and accelerate cuts slated for 2004 and 2006. Democrats argue the proposal benefits the wealthy while promising counter measures like extended unemployment benefits and tax rebates in rival plans.
