Ottawa Housing Authority Studies Rehab Plan For Senior Homes
OHA met for the first time in a year to discuss the Community Development grant funded rehab program for converting the North American Hotel into housing for seniors. Only two of five attended as Joe Wakefield and Howard Doyen reviewed outreach plans for owner-occupied homes in three target areas. They expect to mail information next week and may hold a second meeting in two weeks to inform interested residents and neighbors. A subsequent session would cover grant details and application forms. The city may spend 3000 dollars per home for up to 25 homes, for structural plumbing electrical upgrades to meet codes.
