US Sergeant Lyons Bids Farewell In Cassington
In Cassington Oxfordshire 420 residents gathered to bid farewell to US Air Sergeant Jack Lyons his British born wife and twins as he left Brize Norton. Lyons led village efforts raising funds for Norman Church a pavilion charity drives and youth events becoming vice president of the Cassington Soccer Club. The crowd cheered under a banner Cassington bids Sergeant Lyons bon voyage and presented an autograph album of village scenes.

108-Year-Old Civil War Vet Still Doing Fine
Albert Woolson, 108, last of the Civil War boys in Blue, was reported in good condition at a Duluth hospital after a night there for lung congestion. He had been placed in an oxygen tent, which was removed as his condition improved on Saturday.

Part of Highway 10 To Be Closed
The State Highway Commission announced Highway 10 between Topeka and the 99 junction south of Wamego will close to through traffic from March 2 for about three months. A six mile section from near Paxico to the Maple Hill corner will be paved, delaying work halted by bad weather. Local traffic Topeka to Maple Hill Road will be permitted during construction.
