Ottawa Eagle Scout candidate Ason L Green to be honored

Ason L Green, Ottawa High School senior, will receive the Eagle Scout award in a court of honor at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church. Green organized curtains for nine downtown businesses as his service project funded by the Chamber, with further plans for a Life rank project at Allegre Pharmacy. He holds Scout lineage in BSA troop 74 and participates in many school and community activities.

Simpson detective admits snafu in blood collection

RMH trustees approve raises and debt payoff plan

RMH trustees unanimously voted to reimburse the endowment fund and use 76262 of Medicare money to fund a 2 percent cost of living raise for eligible employees who were not given a raise last year. January operations produced a net income of 60432 on 967043 revenue versus 906611 expenses, not counting about 63000 from the county sales tax. They also approved purchasing maternity beds and a cardiac monitor and formed a committee to hire a board lawyer, with options reviewed by Coen Shumway and RMH Administrator Bregant.

Judge upholds Megan's Law requirements in New Jersey

Mount Holly New Jersey A Superior Court judge upheld Megan's Law provisions requiring sex offenders to register with police and for communities to be notified when dangerous offenders are released. Judge Harold B Wells ruled that locating a offender for notification is not additional punishment though each offender must have a hearing to determine danger.
