Kansas authorities report two fatalities from weekend crashes. Topeka man Lyle S. Beaty, 27, was killed when his pickup was struck by a train at a downtown crossing after attempting to beat it. A 42-year-old Joplin resident, Jesse Lee Stotts, died in a one car crash west of Baxter Springs on US-166 when his vehicle overturned.
