Baseball softball proposal voted down in Anderson County
Anderson County Board of Education rejected a plan to start a baseball and softball program at Anderson County High School for spring 1996 by a 5-2 vote. Supporters included Rick Feuerborn and Gary Teel. The board approved constructing fields near the school with help from the City of Garett and civic groups, at an estimated cost of about 1,250. Other actions included extending several principal contracts and preparing bids for roof repairs with a low bid about 20,966 under the estimated 184,000. Grain markets showed soybeans down, wheat down, corn and grain sorghum up. calendar items noted a scholar bowl event and veteran screenings in Garnett and Gannett.
