Coaching great honored rolling tribute to H.K. Stevens

Habitat project under way in Franklin County

The Franklin County Habitat for Humanity plans its first home rehabilitation set for Feb 19 and 26 on Ottawa north side with a meeting at 7 p.m. at Ransom Memorial Hospital. A March 4 banquet at Ottawa University's Mowbray Union will fund the first new home project, with Carolyn Talboys of Habitat for Humanity Midwest as guest speaker.

ECKAAA home care gains $47000 in excess funding

Elizabeth Maxwell director of the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging announced this week that the state provided 47000 more than expected in funding for the Senior Care Act program. The six county region includes Franklin Anderson Osage Miami Linn Coffey. The program serves about 60 seniors and operates with a 20 percent client share and sliding fee schedule for in home services.
