Shisler Leaves Post as Agency Moves to Tighten Controls

The ECKAAA board ended Shisler’s employment today after learning she was the only authorized signer on an agency savings account. A credit card hold was ordered, a locksmith call placed, and all agency accounts set to require two signatures. Acting director Mary Lou Branstrater and policy board members Ann Hagelin and Virginia Bundy were approved to sign. Shisler reportedly accepted a new role with a social service organization, possibly in Vermont, with an undetermined community and address. The board will rewrite the executive director job description, seek Kansas Department of Aging help, advertise for 30 days, and then narrow candidates. Mary Elwood urged multi-county participation in selecting the new director.
