Death of Elmer E Newton at 51 in Ottawa home
Elmer E Newton 51 of 129 S Locust was found dead in bed at home after long illness. Coroner Dr R S Roberts attributed death to a heart condition. Born August 31 1906 in East Alton Illinois he was a general laborer and had lived in Ottawa 15 years, moving from Dodge City. Surviving are three children Mrs William Wilson of Kansas City Miss Charlotte Newton of Scotland and Harry L Newton in the U S Navy and one sister Mrs Roy Gilmore of Dodge City.

Moundridge Youth Killed in Accidental Gun Blast
Norman Kuhns, 14, of Moundridge was killed by an accidental shotgun discharge. Sheriff Forrest Kennedy said the gun, carried by fellow 14 year old Jerry Strausz, went off while the boys hunted jack rabbits a mile east of Moundridge. Strausz said he thought the gun was on safety.
One Dead In Wichita Shooting
A 29 year old Pueblo man Klondika Lewis died in a Wichita hospital from a gunshot wound suffered Thursday night. Harold L. Jenkins of Wichita was arrested for questioning after allegedly signing a statement admitting the shooting, which ended a long standing grudge between the two men.
