Wellsville High School enjoyed a strong year with state placers in wrestling, a 21-5 baseball season ending fourth at the 3A state tournament, an undefeated regular season and Shrine Bowl selection in football, and a surprise volleyball run to state. Cross country tied its best state finish. Wrestling saw Jesse LaMay take second at 160 pounds, Zach Hoehn earn a fourth state medal, and Jesse Campbell finish sixth for the second straight year. Baseball’s dramatic 7-6 first-round comeback over Bluestein highlighted the year before a 2-1 consolation loss to Frontenac.
