Composer updates Have Yourself a Blessed Little Christmas
Hugh Martin, now 82 and a Seventh Day Adventist, rewrote the chorus to have blessed instead of merry in his 1943 classic Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. He plans publishing next holiday season. He says faith powers his work and warns against others altering his tune. He refused a Nashville artist’s request to sing Have Yourself a Willie Nelson Christmas.
