Obituary for Wilbur Dean Kennedy Parker

Wilbur Dean Kennedy, 64, Parker, died December 19, 2001, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at Eddy Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie with Rev. Richard Landess officiating. Born July 6, 1937, in Rantoul to Dean and Helen Sarah Kennedy, he graduated Lane High School in 1958 and married Leona Waddle in Ottawa in the mid 1950s.

Kennedy family man known for trucking and farming

Kennedy was a longtime truck driver and mechanic who owned Kennedy Trucking and built K and T Sales a Parker grocery. He also farmed the past 30 years and left four sons and five daughters plus two sisters and 19 grandchildren. Burial in Lane Cemetery with memorials to the American Diabetes Association. DIANA LYNN SMITH BURLINGTON Diana Lynn Smith 47 died December 21 2001 at her home after a battle with cancer. She had worked at multiple local businesses and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survived by husband Dennis Ray Smith son Tony Ray Chip Smith daughter Traci Lynn Smith brother and half siblings and two grandchildren. Burial at Graceland Cemetery Burling ton, memorials to her church.

A woman identified as Marsha Reid, 19, allegedly stole $900 in clothing from Dadeland Mall. She fled security, then jumped into the parked car of two off duty Miami-Dade officers Maj Grace O'Donnell and Lt James O'Donnell, attempting to escape while in handcuffs.
