Septuplets Won't Be Home For Christmas In Iowa

Bargains lure holiday shoppers across major stores
Stores offered deep discounts to draw shoppers during the last shopping days before Christmas. Crowds formed at Sears, J C Penney and Macy s while Bloomingdale s Gap and Kmart drew buyers with up to 70 percent cuts. Shoppers cited budget limits and layoffs, with many planning post Christmas sales. Store executives warned margins shrink but hope late week promotions boost annual totals.
