Phosphorus shortage hinders cool season grass pastures
Yard and pasture managers often report underperforming cool season grasses like fescue and brome. Soil tests show low phosphorus, a common result of years of nitrogen-only fertilization, reducing production and inviting weeds. Apply phosphorus to restore yields. if resources are tight, cut nitrogen rates to free phosphorus.
