Nixon Puts Premium On The South
Washington AP reports President Nixon plans a focused 1972 campaign in the South after noting his 1968 shortfall. Harry Dent says Nixon will try to win all five Wallace states and believes Nixon would win every Southern state in a two way race, with Wallace weakening. Dent cites polls showing Nixon leading Democrats and Wallace in the region.

State Aid To Education Plan Delayed For Kansas Committee
A Kansas legislative committee will not rule on a new state aid to education plan until at least Jan 10. Chair Sen. Joseph Harder says the panel will review computer projections showing district by district funding under alternative plans to equalize funding following a California ruling. Proposals include state level collection for redistribution of county levies and a cap on aid for extremely poor districts to reach a median educational level. About $105 million is now provided by the state for local schools. The committee aims to design a finance program first, then adjust funding to fit a workable total.
