Overbrook and Kansas City Livestock Prices and Slaughter Cattle Summary
Prices at Overbrook Livestock Commission for December 15 show feeder steers 110-117 and feeder heifers 98-108 across weights from 4-500 to 7-800 pounds with slaughter cows and bulls steady. National Slaughter Cattle Summary reports week ending December 19, 2003, with sales 4-6 dollars lower than last week, boxed beef volatile, and dire packer margins. Midwest and High Plains direct markets show steer and heifer prices in the 89-95 and 145-154 ranges, while St Joseph notes mixed to higher slaughter cattle prices and solid demand for heavy feeders with calves picking up late.
