Wal-Mart cooks win spots in 2004 family cookbook
Kathleen Markley of Ottawa and Mary Allen of Garnett, both distribution center employees, earned spots in Wal-Mart’s 2004 Family Cookbook with Aunt’s Pork Loin With Apricot Sauce and Cream of Potato Soup. Wal-Mart published about 80 winners across six regional cookbooks from thousands of submissions. The cookbook sells for 4 dollars 96 cents in Wal-Mart stores. Darwin Alexander to step down from Ottawa Library Friends after eight years of service, ending December. He helped move books to the new bookstore and served as treasurer and president. Gloria Kruse praised his dedication and loyalty.
