Cambodian Troops On The Run Near Phnom Penh
Khmer Rouge insurgents pushed government forces from a position 19 miles from Phnom Penh on the second day of attacks along Highway 1. Government troops abandoned Kien Svayo and fell back toward the Mekong River with survivors rescued by navy gunboats. Military sources report 30 soldiers killed, 2 wounded, and several missing as the rebels probe defenses and prepare a dry season offensive. Other clashes were reported 13 miles north on Highway 5, and near Kampot. In Saigon, the U.S. urged the International Commission to investigate a Saturday helicopter attack that killed an American officer and a Vietnamese crew member, marking the commission’s first protest since its January cease-fire.

One Way To Deliver A Horse Across Cincinnati Streets
Jan McConner rode a horse 50 miles from Jock's stable in Ross through Cincinnati to New Richmond to deliver the animal to Jim Moore after the buyer bought Jack. Neighbors stared as she trotted through high crime districts early Sunday. A policeman questioned her, cars braked for the horse, and she walked Jack over a half mile while a train whistled beneath. She notes low feed costs and minimal air pollution from the ride.
